Major Product Groups
The most common painted metal products are metal painted steels. Their manufacture on average employs cold- rolled metal (although a tiny percentage is made from warm rolled coil or sheet) which will be then painted with zinc or with tin. A further covering is usually added to zinc-coated metal in a future process step to produce colour-coated steels.
Zinc Lined Steels
There are several distinct forms of zinc covering (or galvanizing). They’re
Constant warm soak galvanizing: in this method, a cold-rolled coil or sheet in immersed in a container of molten zinc. A typical production approach for warm soak galvanizing metal could be the Sendzimir เหล็กเพลทหัวเสา process (which uses a little quantity of aluminum in the coating). Constant warm soak galvanizing is presently the most used method of producing painted steels. Common applications of these steels include structure (roofs, walls – often as sandwich panels), car human anatomy components (exposed panels), fabrication (metal cabinet structures and walls), agriculture (outhouses, livestock structures, silos), heating and ventilation (casings, air ducts); and it’s very common for the galvanized metal to be further painted (see below) for a number of these uses.
Hot soak batch galvanizing – useful for little lots in a non-continuous batch process. Common items can include lighting poles, aerial poles, radio towers, road barriers, energy sign lines, camera poles, motorway crash barriers, pedestrian link programs, backyard structures, galvanized wire or mesh, road furniture, marketing poles, boilers, channels, welded tubes and other users, etc. The usual generation process requires dipping the formed metal fabrication in to a molten tub, which may be as much as 12 metres in length.
Electrolytic galvanizing – a relatively popular covering approach making a zinc painted metal with a covering of 25-100 g/m2 per area – even though money costs, functioning costs and industry choices have swung demand far from electro galvanizing towards constant warm soak galvanizing in new years.
Galvalume – which requires request of a 45% Zinc-55% Aluminium alloy. Galvalume is particularly well suited to highly corrosive settings [e.g. ocean air] and is suitable for roofing, subjected sections, unexposed car areas, etc. [Galvalume is just a documented trademark of BIEC International Inc].
Galvanneal: here a zinc covering request is followed by temperature treatment to make a Zn-Fe metal (8-15% Fe and 100-120 g/m2 total) covering of very good surface quality. The merchandise is fantastic for color covering and is easily weldable. Material qualities can range between smooth heavy pulling through to high strength low alloys.
Colour Lined Material
Natural painted metal (also referred to as’colour painted steel’) is just a product produced from zinc painted metal – on average, made from warm soak galvanized steel. Here, the galvanized coil or sheet is decorated with an normal covering such as for example PVC or cotton resin, which imparts significantly better surface durability. As a result, the of use life of the metal can be extended for an additional 20 years or even more, as rust is inhibited by the additional defense of the additional normal coating.
